She has been the winner of the overall World Cup competition four times. She is a well-known athlete throughout American the history of sports. She is one of just six women who have been successful at all five World Cup competitions in alpine. In total, she's achieved an impressive 82 World Cup championships. The best skier in the world and the top American racer in the sport of skiing has announced her retirement following this year's World Championship in Sweden.
